This has been the week for remembering/ thinking about mental health or illness. There has been a lot in the media about mental illness and depression with some 'celebrities' talking about their own problems and royalty supporting charities involved with mental illness. But have you heard anything about the possible reasons for the increase?
Humans have always struggled with depression it seems through the ages, but there has been a huge increase in recent years especially the last ten years, but more so the last 3 years.
The police say that incidents of persons being sectioned have increased by 30% the last 3 years. Psychologists have noticed the increase in depression since 2011 and one psychologist insists it is social media to blame.
But does anyone suspect the EMFs that we are enveloped in continuously? And those of us who suggest such a thing are treated with disdain.
I was listening to the radio yesterday and in 2 different programmes, one after the other (R4), the speakers mentioned that they were suffering from anxiety and panic attacks.
It is becoming an epidemic.
Why is it so difficult to understand that electromagnetic waves (microwaves) greater that the background radiation would cause illness? The nervous system functions by electrical impulses, and it is affected by this waves; more so because they are emitted in pulses.
Those of us who are affected would testify that we can feel these altering our nervous impulses, our mood, our personality, our being. We feel the headaches, the palpitations, the panic, the depression, anxiety, and anger.
No, you cannot measure these by changes in the blood so they are ignored - we are imagining these symptoms.
And it looks as though 'we an't seen nothing yet', as there are already warnings about 5G. Perhaps when people start dropping dead someone will take notice, by which time it would be too late, we will be incapable to fathom the reason.

I can go on - thank you for listening.

Tess, I just noticed this after doing some other posts.

You dead right of course, and I have had some nasty comments made to me when I've suggested the steep recent rise in anxiety & depression is linked to the 4G mobile signals that came 3-4 years ago. But they only want to talk about the problems caused by using social media - as a distraction no doubt.

There is Big Pharma monies going into lobbying against the EMR reasons for this steep increase - they just want to sell more Prozac and other anti-depressants, anti-anxiety pills etc and suggest that anyone claiming their problems are being caused by the parallel steep rinse in RF-EMR over the past 3/4 years need "Cognitive Behaviour Therapy" for their "delusions".

Also parallel to this steep rise in depression/anxiety/irritability/anger is the rise in Type 2 Diabetes. So I was not surprised to discover a paper in a peer-reviewed medical journal making the link:

"Association of Exposure to Radio-Frequency Electromagnetic Field Radiation (RF-EMFR) Generated by Mobile Phone Base Stations with Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) and Risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus"

The full paper is available here:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4661664/

Here is the Abstract:

"Installation of mobile phone base stations in residential areas has initiated public debate about possible adverse effects on human health.

This study aimed to determine the association of exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic field radiation (RF-EMFR) generated by mobile phone base stations with glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and occurrence of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

For this study, two different elementary schools (school-1 and school-2) were selected. We recruited 159 students in total; 96 male students from school-1, with age range 12–16 years, and 63 male students with age range 12–17 years from school-2.

Mobile phone base stations with towers existed about 200 m away from the school buildings. RF-EMFR was measured inside both schools.

In school-1, RF-EMFR was 9.601 nW/cm2 at frequency of 925 MHz, and students had been exposed to RF-EMFR for a duration of 6 h daily, five days in a week.

In school-2, RF-EMFR was 1.909 nW/cm2 at frequency of 925 MHz and students had been exposed for 6 h daily, five days in a week. 5–6 mL blood was collected from all the students and HbA1c was measured by using a Dimension Xpand Plus Integrated Chemistry System, Siemens.

The mean HbA1c for the students who were exposed to high RF-EMFR was significantly higher (5.44 ± 0.22) than the mean HbA1c for the students who were exposed to low RF-EMFR (5.32 ± 0.34) (p = 0.007).

Moreover, students who were exposed to high RF-EMFR generated by MPBS had a significantly higher risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (p = 0.016) relative to their counterparts who were exposed to low RF-EMFR.

It is concluded that exposure to high RF-EMFR generated by MPBS is associated with elevated levels of HbA1c and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus."

I know this is even more depressing, but I give copies of the Abstract out to anyone who wants it - especially anyone I meet with diabetes.

The denial and cognitive dissonance in the media is so blatant.

It's plainly obvious that there are direct links between this epidemic of mental health and other illnesses, yet the focus is all on "talking about it" and "raising awareness".

Just turn the damn radiation off before it's too late for everyone.

I agree wholeheartedly with that EG. Wouldn't it be nice to have just one day where we can all feel normal again, and think straight. But I don't see it happening any time soon sadly.

No broadcasters in Europe or N. America will talk real about it, as they rely on advertising to fund their websites and often programme budgets. Print media is the same with some exceptions occasionally. But they then ask the opinion of "experts" in order to produce "balanced reporting"who cast doubt on it.

These experts invariably come the the telecoms industry????@**%$£?? But as we all know Doubt is their friend. They invoke all the time to discredit good scientific research and the scientists who conduct it.

However, as I am not caught up in the pathetic Russophobia panic coming from USA/UK and much of EU I don't have a problem with looking at RT, where I found this interesting documentary:

"WiFi Refugees Nowhere to run"

https://rtd.rt.com/films/wi-fi-refugees/

Here's some of the info below the video screen:

Although these people are sick, their illness is difficult to diagnose, and it's even harder to convince others that it actually exists.

Their symptoms include cluster headaches, nausea, chronic fatigue, a burning sensation on the skin, and a metallic taste in the mouth.
Sufferers claim the cause is wireless technology.

There's no known cure, and the only way to alleviate the symptoms seems to be to distance themselves from electronic devices and the influence of omnipresent wireless networks.

Electrosensitive people insist that Wi-Fi and cell phones are inflicting constant harm on humans, animals, and nature.

Their testimonies are not the only evidence that non-ionising radiation may not be as harmless as we have been led to believe.

Scientific studies that have been conducted on plants, insects, and mice suggest these electromagnetic waves may be damaging living organisms.
Scientists from around the world have appealed to the UN, warning of the negative, long-term effects that electromagnetic fields could be having on animal and plant life.

At the moment, electrosensitive people have no choice but to flee to the woods or distant rural areas that wireless technology hasn't yet reached.
This often means leaving their families behind.

Such sanctuaries are not easy to find, however, and they are becoming scarcer by the day.

Sufferers warn that they are just the first to have detected the problem, which they expect to get worse and affect more and more people.

Their message is not to stop progress, but to proceed with caution, making sure new technology is really safe before it is made widely available.

Also scroll down to the Comments Section. I haven't been able to go through them all yet but will later if I feel up to it after I venture into town to my wifi-infected doctors surgery.

It is so difficult to find a safe place.
I think just trying not to get too close a source will have to be enough and head covering with some metallic material!
I agree about the wifi infected Drs surgery. I find that I go away more ill than when I arrived. One day when I sat underneath a wifi router, unbeknown to me at the time, I got really bad tempered. They had just refurbished the surgery and filled it with wifi.

In 1999 it was advertised in the newspapers for people that suffered from EMS to be tested in a Kent University, [ I can't remember the name ] yes it was recognized back then, but for the usual crappy reason as the years went by it was swept under the carpet. so I answered the ad by phone and it was explained to me that my travel expenses would be paid. I was told that I would be put in a room and given a small device with a button. EMR would then switched on and of at random and if my sensitivity kicked in I would press the button. So I agreed right away and said oh ya beauty I will be able to tell my so-called friends a family what I thought of for the ridicule and total lack of respect that I was getting from them. You might think that this might be too good to be true. The good news that I thought was coming my way suddenly turned into bad news. I was then informed, saying, we don't tell you results we just do the test and then let you go. Well, I replied in so many words telling them where to go. In the 1990s there were a few reports on the main news about is cell-phone radiation safe. So round about 2003 they were under pressure to bring the subject up because of the many complaints that were going around about the dangers. In the interview a phone company rep. stated that everything was perfectly safe, and went on to say we did tests in A Kent university and there were no problems with the people we tested. So here's an idea, why not get everyone who is electromagnetic sensitivity to get together in large groups and demand that they are tested. They could form groups like STOP 5G. GLASGOW, who organizes many marches and demonstrations. The main thing we should realize is people who are EMS. are the only ones that can prove this is real. Any other illnesses are easily diagnosed as something else.

Kryptonite I understand your experience. I was involved indirectly with an experiment at Essex university - a similar test to the one you describe- and they also came to the conclusion that EMFs (microwaves) have not effect on the person.
The trouble is with these tests the effect is not instant, i.e. EMFs present cause illness - EMFs absent - OK. (In my case a headache initially).

They needed to isolate the patients for at least 24 hours and preferably 48 hours before the test to clear their system from the effects of microwaves. Then start the test which should last for more than a few minutes - perhaps 10 fifteen minutes. I think most people can cope with a few minutes of exposure. Leave them for some hours or a day to again clear the system. ....

But do you think they would put so much effort to do this? Do you think they care? Most are given grants by the billion pound companies to carry out these experiments. Sadly our universities have been bought by these companies - long ago are the days when universities were independent.

You read up about how the various companies tried to stop the research into the harm done by smoking; the harm done by asbestos, the harm done by leaded petrol.
Even the great William Morris of art and craft fame stopped the publication of the harm done by his green paint made with arsenic from his mines.

I can go on.

I had to stop writing because I was having trouble with the cursor and I was not able to make corrections. But I think you've got the gist of it.
Just one more thing.
The BBC some years ago (ten? perhaps). Di a piece on Panorama about the Effects of microwaves on a people but there was an outcry the BBC should involve itself with such subversive topic. They dare not do anything like that now. The BBC should be an ally but they have completely dropped the subject. I write to them occasionally when there is a radio programme on mental health but no response. We are nut cases - get over it.
I think it seems to me that it is people who have allergies who seem to get the worse symptoms, there are about 30% of the population who have the allergy genes - now that is a lot of people who could become dysfunctional with time as the EMFs increase.

The BBC are forcing a whole island in the North of the UK to be blanketed in 5G. So I don't think they're neutral on the subject.

The BBC has become the mouthpiece of businesses and small interest groups but not us.
They are happy to go on about how rubbish the NHS is but they don't help people find the causes of illness. Also they don't pay their taxes - saying they are self employed.
It is convenient to listen to the radio but I do get fed up with it.

For sure people are going mental, the stock market crash didn't help. I think there is a new world order taking control!

Now depression will not surprise anyone. Everyone fights it as best they can... Usually, just a distraction, a hobby is enough. For more complex types of depression, a whole group of drugs has long been invented - Major depressive disorder (MDD)
