Dear all,
This forum is really disseminating useful information. Recently, I read that the usual headphones that we use to avoid radiation while speaking on mobiles do not serve the purpose. This is because the radiation travels up the headphone wire and reaches us. That's what I read. An article even said that the radiation may increase by traveling up the headphone wire. Air tube headphones are suggested on some sites, which are said to have a hollow tube filled with air towards the ear-side end. This stops the radiation, an article says.

How true this is? Are our usual headphones really not safe? Of is this another marketing gimmick to sell some costly air tube headphones by making the people fear about radiations through normal headphones?

I also heard this. A friend, who by the way does not agree with me about the effect of microwaves on health, has recently admitted that leaving headphones on for many hours made him so ill that he could not get up the following morning.

Hello,

The airtube would definitely stop the RF entering the ear. I prefer speakerphone but not great in all situations. If a RF meter is held against the standard model of in-ear headphones and it is on a call the meter registers a pulsed signal.
Airtube does limit exposure.

You might wonder if earphones are safe for kids. In fact, it is safer for kids to use headphones than noise-cancelling headphones because ear mufflers are still exposed to the air and will cause damage or infection. In addition, earphones offer less distraction, so kids shouldn't be distracted by others or loud noises around them

This is the first I've heard about it
It is unlikely that the headphones are unsafe

OK, welcome to the forum. You are free to voice your opinion.

But, at least do MINIMAL research before adding unsubstantiated drivel like this:
"It is unlikely that the headphones are unsafe"

Thank you.
