The IKEA sofa beds (we call them "futons" here) I've looked at have wooden supports underneath a foam mattress. The frame is metal though. Can be earthed.

i was shocked when i realised there was metal there. even if just using as a sofa there is stil lmetal around underneath.alas at~£2000 for the suite, sofa and 2 armchairs, too expensive to throw out.
not sure about earthing via the electric socket though ,as we are picking up HF fromphone masts and DECTwe havenearby telecoms engineer outside sources. to consider.
i wonder if i coul get away with some electrocloth civering under the sofa seats?, or aluminium foil wrspped around the pipework?
any ideas please. thabks.
