Dutch Telecom Agency says mast are harmless
Holland Created: 1 Aug 2007
AMSTERDAM – People who live near a UMTS or GSM broadcast mast need not worry that the mast's proximity may endanger their health. The electromagnetic radiation from is far below the limits, according to a study of 211 locations by the Telecom Agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The Agency randomly chose a number of masts but also carried out measurements around masts where the public had voiced concerns.

In almost all cases the radiation reached about 2 Volts per metre, while limits are about 60 V/m. One mast was an exception, giving off radiation of 10 V/m. The Health Inspectorate said in 2000 already that the levels of radiation caused by these masts were harmless.
