WE shall not be moved - but the mast should!

That was the defiant message from parents, elected representatives and developers at a public meeting opposing the siting of a 15-metre-high mobile phone mast near Stanley Primary School in Ardrossan.

Last Thursday's event was well attended and the proposals have now been lodged with North Ayrshire Council as planning authority.

Frank Swenney, chief executive of Cunninghame Housing Organisation told the crowd that there is no conclusive proof that people living close to mobile phone technology would not be harmed by increased radiation.

However, Vodafone maintain that there is no proof that this type of construction actually does cause a risk.
