France | Created: 12 Dec 2017 |
The Minister of National Education has ensured that mobile phones will be banned from schools as soon as the next school year. Students will soon be without their cell phones in schools. Jean-Michel Blanquer, the Minister of Education, announced that the devices "will be banned at school and college from the start of 2018". "We are working on this issue, it can take different forms, you may need it for teaching purposes, for emergency situations so cell phones must be confined", he said and recalled that some colleges "are already enforcing a ban". According to Jean-Michel Blanquer, the question of screens is a message of "Public Health". "It is best that children are not too much, if at all, in front of screens before the age of 7". |
